Over 3 months John recorded about 75 hours of interviews and spoke to some of the most respected people in the industry to produce an audio documentary that attempts to answer the question “What is safety? And why is it important anyway?”

John has interviewed world renowned specialists in the field; Christopher Avery, David Marquet, Jerry Weinberg, Esther Derby, Johanna Rothman, Woody Zuill and many more in over 75 hours of audio. This has been a fascinating deep dive learning experience for John and he hopes to explore these insights with the audience.

About John Le Drew:

John has spent most of the last 2 decades working in the software industry, with a focus on web technologies. After 10 years as a software engineer he moved into consultancy where he quickly learned the value of team dynamics and how most technical challenges are projecting underlying issues with collaboration as he soon recognised that the technological problems he was hired to solve, were rooted not in technology, but in the way teams were collaborating. This led him to research lean and agile ways of working, transforming his practice.

John's approach is focused on helping organisations create an environment that fosters safety; facilitating creative collaboration. John known for his infectious passion and sense of humour that brings in a much needed injection of energy to unmotivated, challenged teams.

After nearly 2 decades of work in the IT industry there isn’t much that John hasn't put his hand to; working for both government and private sector clients in advertising, telecoms, recruitment, civil engineering, education, broadcast, gaming and mass transit.

John hosts and produces the well respected Agile Path podcast where he creates in-depth audio documentaries on the topics that most affect organisations transitioning to agile ways of working and other critical issues. The first season focuses on the effect of psychological safety (or the lack there of) on organisations and wider society. This has lead to many speaking engagements across the UK, US and Europe.

John lives in Manchester, UK with his two boys and cat. He loves experimental cookery, photographing things that others don’t notice, getting lost in cities he doesn’t know and travelling to places he's never been to. But more than anything, John loves spending time with his two boys who have taught him more about life than anything else possibly could.
